Tailwind® is an environmentally, conscious company, manufacturing our furniture from high density polyurethane. HDPE is a recycled plastic derived from our post consumer and or post industrial bottle waste (milk containers). Our colored recycled lumber is made from post consumer waste and the white recycled lumber is made from post industrial waste. By weight, Tailwind® recycled lumber is 97% recycled HDPE, which is recycled #2.

Recycled, plastic, combined with the stainless steel fasteners, makes our furniture virtually maintenance free. It never needs painting or staining, and will not rot or splinter. A UV inhibitor has been added to resist breakdown and fading from prolonged exposure, making it versatile in all climates from the desert sun to the extreme cold to the saltwater coast. It is resistant enough to be left outdoor year-round. HDPE is unaffected by most corrosive substances, and will not absorb moisture or promote bacterial growth. To maintain original finish, clean regularly with soap and water.
